ARMY DAY

We honour the Indian soldier by recalling his achievements on Army Day.

Let us all join to “Salute the Soldier” and acknowledge his myriad sacrifices and years of unremitting service to our great Nation.

Let us pray for the souls who gave up their lives in the service to the nation and for the honour of their units and regiments.

May their lives and sacrifices never go in vain; may India grow from strength to strength and may our future generations keep the flames of honour, sacrifice and love of the Motherland forever alight.

Military service is clearly not a job but a calling in life; it comes with its own inexplicable and extended codes of conduct; and it subconsciously imposes a moral burden and responsibility as “Indian to Nation”. Individual acts of valour generally receive public acclaim but the sacrifice of the Unknown Soldier who lays down his life ungrudgingly in some remote battlefield often remains unacknowledged. It is only through sustained effort in disseminating correct, unprejudiced facts about the Soldier of Indian Army’s past, present and future that the public at large as well as policy makers will continue to acknowledge the great debt owed by the nation to the men in arms.
